Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Approves 5-Year Transport Plan for the Province

Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a 5-year transport plan for the province, aiming to introduce an Automated Rapid Transport System (ARTS) with modern facilities.
In a statement released from Lahore, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz explained that the ARTS system would require less space on the road, with buses featuring three coaches capable of accommodating over 300 passengers. She emphasized that the system would be fully solar-powered and equipped with smart stations where buses would charge in just a few minutes.
The new transport system will offer fast charging, Wi-Fi, monitoring cameras, and other amenities for passengers.
Maryam Nawaz further shared that the first phase of the project would be launched in Lahore, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala, and in the next stages, the system will be extended to ten more cities. The government aims to complete this system across the province within the next four years.
