Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Announces ‘Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services’ to Improve Health Sector

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has made a significant decision to introduce the “Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services” in the province. As part of the initiative, 20,000 health inspectors will be enlisted through an outsourcing system, and 39,000 lady health workers will also be integrated into the program. This move aims to enhance the overall healthcare sector in Punjab.
The “Maryam Nawaz Community Health Services” will focus on fulfilling 19 health-related tasks, including the responsibility for polio and other vaccination programs. The workforce involved will comprise over 60,000 employees, with the inclusion of health inspectors and lady health workers.
In addition, the services will ensure the creation of a proper record for patients, and the task of mapping health data will also be managed by the new service.
A briefing during a meeting revealed that 93% of patients are satisfied with the health services reforms. Following the briefing, CM Maryam Nawaz instructed the preparation of a detailed plan for the community health services and immediate action to make it fully operational. This initiative marks a significant step forward in improving healthcare accessibility and effectiveness in the province.
