Punjab Assembly to Present Bill for Rs. 400,000 Salary Increase for Members
Lahore: The Punjab Assembly session will begin shortly today, and during the proceedings, a bill proposing a Rs. 400,000 salary increase for Members of the Provincial Assembly will be introduced. This will be the 19th session of the Punjab Assembly, with Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Channar presiding over the session. The proceedings will begin with the recitation of the Quran, Naat, and the national anthem.
During the session, responses will be provided to questions related to the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department, and attention-drawing notices will also be addressed. The bill for increasing the salaries of assembly members will be presented, and if approved, the salary of Punjab Assembly members will increase from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 500,000 per month, effective from January 1.
Additionally, audit reports will be presented in the house, and there will be a general debate on law and order issues in the province.
