Punjab Assembly Approves Resolution for Two-Chamber System; Other Key Resolutions Passed

Lahore:A resolution to implement a two-chamber system in Punjab, similar to the National Assembly and Senate, has been passed by the provincial assembly with a majority vote. The resolution, presented by government member Amjad Ali Javed, seeks to establish a bicameral system in the province, and it was approved after significant support.

Additionally, government member Sarah Ahmed presented a resolution condemning the recent attack in Bannu and expressing solidarity with the Pakistan Army, which was also passed with a majority vote.

During the session, the opposition leader criticized the government’s policies, claiming that farmers are facing severe hardships due to the government’s actions. In response, Minister for Agriculture Ashiq Kermani stated that “over 600,000 farmers have been issued Kisan Cards, leading to the purchase of goods worth 50 billion rupees.”

Furthermore, Amjad Ali Javed, a government member, raised concerns regarding the non-implementation of the minimum wage of 37,000 rupees for laborers, particularly in the education and other government departments, and urged authorities to address the issue.
