Islamabad: Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Hafiz Na’eem-ul-Rehman, has stated that the strength of the public cannot be restrained by placing containers; they desire to remain peaceful.
Addressing a demonstration today at the federal capital and nationwide lockdown, arrests of workers, and blocking of caravans, Hafiz Na’eem-ul-Rehman expressed that enthusiastic processions have departed from across the country. He emphasized urging all workers to manage and join the sit-ins. “We are peaceful people and want to remain peaceful. It is the responsibility of the government to ensure peace,” he said.
He instructed all representatives that wherever obstacles are encountered, they should set up protests. “We will convert one sit-in into many,” he added, advising workers to await leadership’s call after setting up protests before barriers.
Amir Jamaat also remarked, “We will demonstrate that the public’s strength cannot be curbed by placing containers. We want reduced electricity bills. We want relief from IPPs.”
Meanwhile, central Secretary Information Jamaat-e-Islami Qaisar Sharif said that at present, individuals from various regions have arrived in Islamabad in large numbers. Information about the designated temporary stand-off locations is being disseminated to all provinces by the leadership. The final location of the rally will be decided after consultation, with the Friday prayers.
He stated that all participants in the rally must arrive at the rally site by 5 p.m. Inform participants who are currently stationed wherever they are, to hold a sit-in. Details regarding the commencement of the rally should be confirmed and precautions should be taken by 5 p.m. A caution that is peaceful while entering Islamabad before the Friday prayers has been directed.
