PTI Women Leaders Gear Up for November 24 Protest, Emphasize Their Role in Success
Islamabad:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called for a major nationwide protest on November 24, which is set to culminate in a sit-in at Islamabad’s D-Chowk. The party has urged supporters from all over Pakistan to converge on the federal capital to participate in the demonstration. However, the party’s recent protests have been marked by low turnout and a noticeable absence of women leadership, leading to discussions about their involvement in the upcoming protest.
In recent weeks, PTI’s protests have lacked momentum and success, with critics pointing out that the party’s female leadership has been largely absent. There were also questions raised on social media about why women leaders of the party were not seen alongside Imran Khan’s sisters during their visits to the jail. In light of these concerns, **V News** spoke to several prominent women leaders of PTI to clarify the role of women in the upcoming protest and how they plan to contribute.
### **”PTI Women Always Answer Imran Khan’s Call”**
PTI leader **Aaliya Hamza** explained that the situation regarding Imran Khan’s sisters being alone outside Adiala Jail was a one-off incident and that it occurred because no one was aware of their visit. She stressed that all PTI women leaders have always supported Imran Khan and his family, particularly his wife and sisters, who have made significant sacrifices for the party. “The sacrifices made by Imran Khan’s wife and sisters are a debt owed by all Pakistanis,” she said, emphasizing that the women of PTI have always stood by them, even in difficult times.
Aaliya Hamza further highlighted the crucial role of women in any movement or protest, pointing out that no protest or movement can be complete without the active participation of women. She referenced the role of women in Pakistan’s independence struggle, noting that **Mother of the Nation Fatima Jinnah** had played a pivotal role alongside **Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah**. “On November 24, PTI women will once again take to the streets with determination, contributing significantly to the success of the protest,” she declared.
Hamza also reflected on the personal hardships faced by PTI women leaders, including arrests and facing terrorism charges. “I personally endured 15 months and 4 days of imprisonment, and over 100 women have been arrested at various times. Despite facing such challenges, we have continued our fight,” she said. “The violation of women’s dignity and the attacks on our rights have only strengthened our resolve.”
### **Women’s Grassroots Campaign for November 24 Protest**
Former PTI MPA **Ayesha Bano** also shared her perspective, emphasizing that PTI women have always supported Imran Khan and the party’s struggles. She addressed the video that circulated showing Imran Khan’s sisters outside the jail, clarifying that the PTI Women’s Wing President and other women leaders were indeed present at the scene, but the video was recorded at a time when they were not visible, fueling unnecessary propaganda.
“Whenever Imran Khan faces a court hearing, our women leaders ensure that we are present to show our support,” Ayesha Bano stated. “Our women from Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Malakand, Hazara, Karachi, and Balochistan all travel to participate in PTI’s events and protests.”
Regarding the November 24 protest, Ayesha mentioned that PTI women were actively engaging in a door-to-door campaign to encourage participation. “From top to bottom, PTI women leaders are working tirelessly to mobilize the public for this protest,” she explained, stressing that the movement is not just about a symbolic protest but a critical effort to seek justice and freedom for Imran Khan.
### **Challenges in Conducting the Protest**
Despite the widespread mobilization efforts, Ayesha Bano acknowledged the obstacles in organizing protests, particularly in light of the heavy restrictions and blockades imposed by authorities. “When people decide to step out of their homes, it is already a sign of success, but when roads are blocked with containers and the path to your home is obstructed, it becomes a challenge,” she said. “Protest is a constitutional right, and no one can take that away. Even though there are efforts to disrupt us, we are confident that the people will rise up and join the protest.”
### **Will Bushra Bibi Join the Protest?**
When asked about whether Bushra Bibi would join the November 24 protest, Ayesha Bano stated that she was unsure. “I do not have confirmation whether Bushra Bibi will be joining the protest with PTI women. However, we have heard from PTI leader **Shaukat Yousafzai**, who mentioned in an earlier interview that Bushra Bibi will manage things from the **Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar**, but might not participate directly in the protest. However, there could be a surprise, and she may decide to join,” Bano added.
### **Conclusion**
With PTI gearing up for the November 24 protest, the women of the party are emphasizing their pivotal role in its success. From organizing grassroots campaigns to ensuring mass participation, PTI women are determined to make their voices heard. Despite the challenges, they remain resolute in their commitment to the cause, rallying behind **Imran Khan** and the party’s vision for justice and political freedom.
