PTI Threatens to Launch Civil Disobedience Movement if Talks Fail

Pakistan's Political Crisis Deepens as PTI Leaders Criticize State Repression

Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has hinted at launching a civil disobedience movement if the government fails to engage in meaningful negotiations. Speaking to the media in Peshawar, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly, Omar Ayub Khan, criticized the current political and security situation in Pakistan, describing it as akin to “martial law.” He expressed grave concerns over state repression and said that the innocent public was not safe from state-sponsored violence.
He revealed that a negotiation committee, including prominent leaders like Hamid Raza, Suleman Akram Raja, and himself, had been formed to engage in dialogue with the government. However, he made it clear that if the government refuses to hold talks, PTI would resort to a civil disobedience movement to push for their demands.
PTI leader Shibli Faraz also condemned the government, accusing it of using fake cases to divert the party’s attention. He praised the people of Azad Kashmir for peacefully securing their demands and reaffirmed that Pakistan belonged to all citizens, not just a select few. Faraz further expressed solidarity with the people of Azad Kashmir for their non-violent protests.
