Islamabad: The Election Commission has officially recognized 39 members of the National Assembly as belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). According to sources, the Election Commission issued notifications confirming these members as PTI representatives, which have also been uploaded on their official website.
In light of the Supreme Court’s decision, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had submitted a list of 39 independent members of the National Assembly along with their party affiliations to the Election Commission. The Supreme Court had earlier directed the Election Commission to allocate specific seats to Suni Ittehad Council, including seats reserved for women and minorities.
The notification issued by the Election Commission marks PTI’s bolstered presence in the National Assembly, solidifying their majority status.
