PTI Protest Disrupts Mobile and Internet Services in Karachi
Karachi: Mobile phone and internet services have been disrupted in various areas of Karachi, causing inconvenience to residents. Users have reported outages in mobile data and Wi-Fi connectivity.
This disruption follows a statement by the Ministry of Interior’s spokesperson, who had mentioned that mobile data and Wi-Fi services would only be suspended in areas with security concerns. The spokesperson clarified that services would continue as usual in other parts of the country.
The interruption comes as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) prepares for a protest in Islamabad today. In response, the federal government has ramped up security measures, with the city’s entry and exit points sealed off and heavy deployments of Rangers, police, and Frontier Corps (FC) forces to manage any unforeseen situations. The capital has been transformed into a ‘container city’ to control the movement of protesters.
