PTI Leadership to Investigate Absentees from Islamabad Protest, Says Raoof Hasan

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Raoof Hasan has announced that an inquiry will be conducted to determine which party leaders participated in the recent Islamabad protest and who did not. In an interview with ARY News, Hasan stated that the party will take action regarding those leaders who did not join the protest, and the final decision will be made by PTI’s central leadership.
Hasan further emphasized the need for a judicial inquiry into the actions taken against the protesters during the demonstration. He expressed that if there were any shortcomings in PTI’s internal operations, the party would address them and work to resolve the concerns of its disgruntled workers. He also assured that PTI’s movement is far from over and that the party would announce its future course of action soon.
While discussing rumors of a possible ban on PTI, Hasan expressed confidence that the judiciary in Pakistan would uphold the party’s rights, and the leadership would contest any such efforts legally.
Hasan also commented on PTI leader Aleema Khan’s right to ask questions, stating that just like other party workers, she too has the right to inquire about party matters. He further clarified that PTI had decided not to hold a protest at D-Chowk at that time.
Regarding the exit of senior leaders like Ali Amin Gandapur and Bushra Bibi from the protest site, Hasan explained that the move was made for the safety of Bushra Bibi, as they did not want her to be detained.
He also shared information about PTI founder Imran Khan’s reluctance to hold a rally in Sangjani, stating that in multiple discussions, Khan did not agree to the location for a protest. Despite heavy lockdowns and containers blocking roads across Punjab, including narrow lanes in Lahore, people still attempted to join the protest. However, many were forced to turn back due to the ongoing operations.
In his personal capacity, Hasan clarified that he does not participate in political rallies but instead focuses on other party responsibilities. He confirmed that he was not part of the protest but was engaged in other important tasks related to the party’s activities.
