PTI Leadership Not Loyal to Imran Khan, Says Sharjeel Memon

Senior Provincial Minister Criticizes PTI's Actions, Claims Party Missed Opportunities for Dialogue

Karachi: Sindh’s Information Minister, Sharjeel Memon, has stated that the leadership of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is not loyal to its founder, Imran Khan. Speaking to the media outside the Accountability Court, Memon criticized PTI leaders for making inconsistent statements and for allegedly trying to block financial support from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Memon claimed that PTI’s leadership had sabotaged any chances for dialogue, adding that every leader in the party was sending out conflicting messages. “Whenever key personalities visit the country, we see such drama unfold,” he said, accusing PTI leaders of being happy when Pakistan faces setbacks. He further alleged that PTI used its influence in regions where they were in power and had abandoned the public during critical moments.
The provincial minister also referred to a controversial statement made by PTI’s Ghulam Sarwar Khan in the National Assembly, where he mentioned the use of weapons. “If you want to take up arms, they should be against the country’s enemies. This kind of statement is nothing but a message of rebellion against the state,” Memon said, calling it an irresponsible remark.
Regarding PTI’s refusal to engage in talks, Memon stated that the party had missed an opportunity to resolve issues peacefully. “The PTI leadership is not loyal to Imran Khan,” he added. He also mentioned that no PTI workers had been arrested in Sindh as the party had no significant presence in the province.
On the economic front, Sharjeel Memon highlighted that Pakistan’s stock exchange was at an all-time high and the country’s economy was showing positive signs. He also shared details about initiatives in Sindh, such as IT training programs for 10,000 youth and ongoing mega-projects like the Malir Expressway and the Red and Yellow Line BRT systems in Karachi, which are expected to have a positive impact on the region.
