PTI Leaders Urged to Avoid Reacting to CM KPK’s Controversial Statement

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, along with PTI leaders Salman Akram Raja and Firdous Shamim Naqvi, have reached out to Shahram Tarakai, Asad Qaiser, and Atif Khan, advising them not to respond to the recent statement made by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
The PTI leaders assured that they would raise the matter with the founding chairman of PTI, Imran Khan. On the other hand, Speaker of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Babar Saleem Swati, who is facing corruption allegations, has submitted his response to the party’s accountability committee.
Sources suggest that if the corruption allegations against Babar Swati are proven, he could be removed from his position, otherwise, efforts will be made to reconcile him with Azam Swati.
The statement by Ali Amin Gandapur has sparked a wave of internal disagreements within PTI. National Assembly member Shahram Tarakai has demanded an investigation into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s statement. Tarakai has expressed concerns that such statements could harm the movement led by PTI’s founding chairman, Imran Khan. He urged the Chief Minister to focus on restoring law and order and promoting good governance, rather than engaging in controversial statements. Tarakai further stated that they reserve the right to respond to the Chief Minister’s comments, but at this moment, such statements would only harm the movement.
Previously, after the exchange of statements, former National Assembly Speaker and parliamentarian Asad Qaiser also called for a thorough investigation into CM Ali Amin Gandapur’s remarks. In a statement on the social media platform X, Asad Qaiser urged the party leadership to bring Imran Khan’s stance to the public and ensure that unnecessary statements do not weaken the ongoing struggle for the release of Imran Khan and other innocent prisoners.
Qaiser emphasized that the party’s focus should remain on the release of Imran Khan and other innocent detainees, warning that internal party disputes should not undermine this crucial effort. He also reiterated that the Chief Minister should focus his energy on governance in the province, maintaining law and order, and supporting the release of innocent individuals.
For context, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur recently claimed in an interview that Atif Khan, Shahram Tarakai, and Asad Qaiser were part of a conspiracy, which is why Imran Khan had instructed not to give them tickets for the provincial assembly. He also suggested that if they were to join the provincial assembly, they would cause trouble for him.
