PTI Leader Umar Ayub Announces Imran Khan Will File Case for CCTV Footage from May 9 Incident

Lahore: Umar Ayub, a senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the opposition leader in the National Assembly, has announced that Imran Khan will file a case to obtain the CCTV footage from the May 9 incident.
Speaking to the media during a court appearance at the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore, Ayub stated that the military, Frontier Corps, and intelligence agencies are tools and employees of the state, emphasizing that these institutions should remain within their defined roles.
According to Ayub, politics should be left to politicians, while the military possesses advanced weaponry including G3 rifles, artillery, tanks, aircraft, and submarines. He highlighted that the Constitution, under Article 7, defines the state as the Majlis-e-Shura, with the National Assembly and Provincial Assemblies being responsible for taxation and legislation.
Ayub also criticized the current government, pointing out issues such as the recent increase in electricity prices by 2.5 rupees per unit, which he claimed adversely affects low-income individuals. He asserted that only a strong Prime Minister could navigate the country out of its current predicament, criticizing the present administration’s inability to address these challenges.
Furthermore, Ayub stressed that PTI has no deals with any parties and reiterated their demand for the release of the CCTV footage from May 9. He clarified that he is not a spokesperson for the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
