PTI Leader Sher Afzal Marwat: Negotiations Have Not Started Yet, Only Initial Talks Held
Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Marwat has clarified that negotiations have not yet begun, and only initial greetings and formalities have taken place. Speaking to Geo News, Marwat emphasized that if talks take place before December 15, it would be beneficial for the country.
He mentioned that PTI’s founder had called for a public protest regarding remittances on December 15. If the situation remains unchanged, the protest call will be implemented. Marwat further stated that the PTI leadership has not yet announced any negotiations but has only formed a negotiating committee. He also pointed out that PTI workers are grieving at their homes, and in such a scenario, it is inappropriate to initiate talks. Discussing negotiations would only lead to disappointment among party workers, and he affirmed that orders related to civil disobedience from PTI’s founder will be followed.
Earlier, PTI leader Shoaib Yusufzai, in a Geo News program, accused the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of not wanting negotiations. He stated that while PTI is open to talks for the sake of the country, the ruling party is avoiding them. He also urged the government to shed its arrogance and engage with the opposition for the betterment of the country.
