Islamabad (Qudrat News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shehzad Murot has emphasized that the party was always destined to hold its final protest at D-Chowk, especially now that Imran Khan has called for a demonstration there. Murot stated that this protest would represent the climax of their struggle.
In an interview with a private TV channel, Murot mentioned that the ongoing protests by PTI would reach their ultimate conclusion, asserting that it is no longer possible for authorities to forcibly prevent people from protesting. He noted that while their protests had previously been relatively moderate, they would intensify in response to increasing governmental oppression.
Commenting on statements made by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murot said that public sentiment in the province reflects a belief that the Punjab police have mistreated citizens, highlighting the unjustified use of force every few kilometers.
When asked about the timing of the protest coinciding with the visit of two foreign prime ministers to Pakistan, Murot expressed doubt that Imran Khan was made aware of this situation. He indicated that public patience is wearing thin, citing two years of unrelenting pressure from police and state institutions.
Regarding claims that Imran Khan had called Barrister Gohar a coward and suggested his removal as party chairman, Murot clarified that there has been no communication from party leadership to him. He mentioned that Barrister Gohar had contacted him for a personal matter but did not discuss the Rawalpindi protest.
Murot revealed that he has lost 10 kilograms due to illness but expressed his desire to rally in response to Imran Khan’s call, anticipating that his health would improve by October 4, allowing him to fulfill his responsibilities to the party.
He criticized the current organizational structure of the party, stating that there is a lack of coordination in mobilizing the masses for protests. He noted that strategies to counter police tactics were not evident in previous demonstrations, asserting that the decision to end protests prematurely was incorrect.
Murot reiterated that Imran Khan’s call for a protest at D-Chowk is crucial, emphasizing that it will be the definitive moment in their movement.
