PTI Leader Sheer Afzal Marwat Granted Interim Bail in Three Cases Over D-Chowk Protest
Islamabad: Islamabad Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has granted interim bail to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sheer Afzal Marwat in three cases related to the party’s D-Chowk protest. The bail was granted in exchange for surety bonds worth 5,000 rupees for each case, and it is valid until December 16.
The bail hearing was presided over by ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Supra. During the proceedings, Marwat claimed that Judge Abulhasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain had refused to hear his case due to comments he made in the National Assembly. Marwat further stated that the justice system was in ruins, leaving him with no choice but to resort to such actions.
The court, responding to Marwat’s remarks, advised him to refrain from making such statements. The case was adjourned until December 16 for further proceedings.
Marwat faces charges related to the PTI’s protests and demonstrations following the party’s controversial ouster from the government.
