PTI Leader Khawaja Saad Rafique Criticizes Dissolution of Aviation Ministry

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique has strongly criticized the government’s decision to dissolve the Ministry of Aviation and merge it with the Ministry of Defense. Taking to Twitter, Rafique expressed regret over the decision, calling it inappropriate.
He emphasized that the dissolution of the Ministry of Aviation could harm Pakistan’s aviation industry. According to Rafique, the PML-N’s election manifesto had promised the creation of a Ministry of Transport by merging the Railways and Aviation Ministries. He suggested that if the government intended to downsize, it could have merged Railways, Aviation, and Ports and Shipping into one Ministry of Transport.
This decision comes after the federal government officially dissolved the Ministry of Aviation, merging it with the Ministry of Defense. The Cabinet Division has issued a Statutory Regulatory Order (SRO) and sent a formal notification regarding the merger to all relevant ministries and provincial chief secretaries. The notification also stated that from now on, all aviation-related matters will be handled by the Ministry of Defense.
