PTI International Media Coordinator Ahmed Janjua Sent to Jail on Judicial Remand

Islamabad: The Anti-Terrorism Court has sent PTI’s International Media Coordinator Ahmed Janjua to jail on judicial remand. The proceedings took place in Islamabad’s Anti-Terrorism Court, where police presented Ahmed Janjua before Judge Tahir Abbas Supra after completing a 7-day physical remand. During the hearing, lawyers Imran Mazari and Hadi Chatha appeared on behalf of Ahmed Janjua.
The defense argued that Ahmed Janjua was abducted on July 20 at 4 am and brought to Islamabad High Court, where a case of recovery was ongoing, though specifics were not disclosed there. Later, a 7-day physical remand was obtained under obscure circumstances.
The defense emphasized that allegations of spreading misinformation on social media were unjustly conflated with terrorism charges. The accused remains unconvicted, thus warranting careful consideration in dealing with police actions.
