PTI Identifies Individual Responsible for Diverting Protest to D-Chowk, Scrutiny on Bushra Bibi’s Role

Islamabad:Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has reportedly identified the individual who, against the direct orders of party founder Imran Khan, diverted the party’s protest convoy from Sangjani to D-Chowk in Islamabad, a move that led to violent confrontations with the police and the tragic loss of lives among party workers.

According to a report by journalist Ansar Abbasi, the PTI core and political committees held separate meetings on the matter of the failed protest and its aftermath. During the meetings, the role of Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, in the decision-making process was brought under intense scrutiny. Key questions were raised: Who violated Imran Khan’s clear directive to stage the sit-in at Sangjani? Who forced the protest to go to D-Chowk, and whose decisions resulted in the deaths of PTI workers during the operation?

**Focus on Bushra Bibi’s Role**
Sources close to the meetings revealed that the leadership was highly critical of the involvement of non-political figures in the party’s decision-making, particularly pointing to Bushra Bibi. There was no defense offered for her actions, and the party members emphasized that political leadership, rather than non-political individuals, should have been responsible for strategic decisions. No PTI leader publicly supported Bushra Bibi, with some suggesting that political decisions should be left to the party’s core leadership.

The meetings also discussed the potential outcomes had Imran Khan’s orders for a sit-in at Sangjani been followed. The leadership agreed that the loss of life could have been avoided and that official negotiations between the government and PTI could have commenced if the protest had remained peaceful at Sangjani.

**Calls for Investigation and Accountability**
During the discussions, discrepancies were noted in the figures provided by party leaders regarding the number of casualties among PTI workers, but all participants unanimously condemned the alleged loss of life due to the government’s operations. The meetings called for the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the deaths of PTI workers and to hold accountable those responsible for diverting the protest to D-Chowk.

PTI’s core and political committees also emphasized the need for a tough stance against the government in the aftermath of the violence. The leadership called for an inquiry into who made the final decision to march towards D-Chowk and for accountability regarding the handling of the protest.

This internal scrutiny within PTI reflects growing frustration and division within the party, as leaders question the handling of the protest and its tragic consequences. The investigation into the incident and the leadership’s future strategies will likely dominate PTI’s discussions in the coming weeks.
