PTI Founder Did Not Authorize Any Negotiations: Barrister Gohar

RAWALPINDI: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Barrister Gohar, stated that the party’s founder has not granted permission to anyone for negotiations. Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, Gohar emphasized that no PTI official is allowed to issue statements against another party member, and a strict prohibition is in place in this regard.
Gohar condemned the authorities for not allowing the founder’s sisters to meet him, calling the denial unacceptable. He said that although five lawyers were allowed to meet the PTI founder, family members, including his sister Aleema Khan, were denied access despite court orders. He added that Bushra Bibi is currently allowed to meet with her family.
The meeting with the legal team lasted around 35 minutes and was held in the conference room of Adiala Jail. Among those present were Barrister Gohar Khan, Faisal Chaudhry, Salman Safdar, Rai Salman Kharal, and Ali Imran Shehzad. According to sources, discussions covered political developments, internal party matters, and ongoing court cases. Options were also discussed regarding the denial of family visits.
Barrister Gohar also appealed to all opposition parties to support PTI, reiterating that the founder is deeply disturbed by the ongoing political and legal challenges.
Earlier in the day, several PTI leaders and family members were stopped by police at different checkpoints outside Adiala Jail. PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja and Naeem Banjhotha were among those denied access. PTI’s legal representatives, including Barrister Salman Safdar, and focal persons Niazullah Niazi and Azam Khan Niazi, also arrived at the jail seeking a meeting.
Gohar stressed the importance of adhering to court rulings and urged authorities to facilitate family visits promptly.
