According to sources, PTI leaders have instructed workers to head towards Islamabad, where they will gather and hold a protest. During internal consultations, PTI leader Aleema Khan confirmed that she and her sisters would join the convoys heading to Islamabad. The party has also kept the option of negotiations open during the protest.
The leadership has assigned specific regions to various leaders for the protest. From Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Chief Minister (CM) of KP, Ali Muhammad Khan, and Shahid Khatak will lead the convoys. MNA Zartaj Gul will lead the convoy from Southern Punjab.
In Punjab, the leadership will be divided among key figures such as Sher Afzal Marwat, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Sanam Javed, and Hamad Azhar. In Sindh, prominent leaders like Haleem Adil Sheikh and Alamgir Khan will guide the provincial convoys. PTI leaders Azam Swati and others from Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will also lead convoys from their respective areas.
Islamabad-based leaders such as Barrister Gohar, Shandana Gulzar, Latif Khosa, Umar Ayub, and Shibli Faraz will head the Islamabad convoy.
The convoys from Peshawar and other KP regions will converge at an interchange in Islamabad. Additional convoys from Charsadda, Nowshera, and Mardan will join the main group at the rest area in Swabi.
KP CM Ali Amin Gandapur will lead the central convoy from Swabi, with further support from Dera Ismail Khan and other southern districts. The convoys are expected to depart at 10 AM, with PTI aiming to ensure that all participants arrive in Islamabad on schedule. However, the exact location for the protest within the city remains confidential.
To prepare for possible confrontations, PTI has advised its workers to bring masks and water to avoid tear gas. The workers have also been instructed to carry wireless sets for immediate communication with party leadership.
PTI’s commitment to reaching Islamabad is firm, and the convoys are expected to gather in Swabi around noon before proceeding further. The party’s leadership is preparing a central convoy, which will include members of the National and Provincial Assemblies traveling from their respective constituencies.
This protest marks a significant political move by PTI, reflecting its ongoing opposition to the government.
