PTI Expresses Support for Sindh on Water Issue

In a series of meetings held on Monday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announced its support for Sindh regarding the ongoing water dispute. Under the leadership of Mahmood Achakzai, the PTI delegation, led by senior members including Salman Akram Raja and Asad Qaiser, met with Qadir Magsi and Ayaz Latif Palijo from the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan. The discussions centered around the water crisis affecting Sindh.
The PTI delegation is on a tour of Sindh to engage with various political parties on this issue. They had previously met with Pir Pagara, the leader of the Functional League.
During a press conference at Ghamman House in Hyderabad, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja emphasized that the issues faced by Pakistan are common throughout the country. He stated that the alliance formed by PTI aims to ensure the rights of people across every region of Pakistan. He declared, “We will not allow even a single drop of Sindh’s water to be diverted elsewhere.”
Raja stressed that there is no greater right than water and lamented that this basic right is being denied. “Water is a fundamental right, and now even this right is being taken away,” he added.
Asad Qaiser, another senior PTI leader, also spoke out against the diversion of the Indus River’s water, which he said is depriving Sindh of its rightful share. He pointed out that if the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) does not act, the current government will not survive for long.
Earlier, during a meeting with the Movement for the Protection of the Constitution of Pakistan’s delegation, Qadir Magsi shared a similar stance, asserting that their position on the water issue was in alignment with PTI’s position.
Ayaz Latif Palijo also urged the delegation to take a firm stand on the water issue. He criticized the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for neglecting the people of Sindh in the past and continuing to do so now.
