PTI Denies Claims of MNAs’ Abduction, Calls Government Actions a “Drama”

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have dismissed reports of their Member of National Assembly (MNA) Haji Imtiaz being freed by his supporters as false and labeled it a “government drama.” They accused the authorities of using new methods to make individuals disappear and then claiming they were abducted. This was stated by PTI leaders during a press conference.
PTI Secretary General and Opposition Leader Omar Ayub condemned the alleged mistreatment of Haji Imtiaz and criticized the Punjab Police and intelligence agencies for their joint operations. He questioned the absence of rule of law and democracy, asserting that the government’s actions are unjust and reminiscent of a “Mola Jatt” film scenario.
Ayub warned that the political wheel would turn quickly, and those involved would face consequences. He also highlighted the alleged abuse of PTI’s social media activists and announced a major rally in Swabi on August 5, led by Ali Amin Gandapur.
Shibli Faraz criticized the government for what he termed as a chaotic and corrupt system, accusing the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of undermining democracy and national integrity for their own gain. He denounced the attempts to reverse Supreme Court decisions and accused these political parties of jeopardizing the country’s stability.
Ali Muhammad Khan expressed concern about the treatment of Haji Imtiaz, emphasizing that such actions are inconceivable in a democratic country. He noted that the election process had been marred by significant irregularities and accused the current government of failing to function effectively.
Chaudhry Ijaz claimed that the abduction claims about Haji Imtiaz are fabricated and that his brother’s only crime was his refusal to change parties. He demanded the Supreme Court to take suo motu action and criticized the current atmosphere of fear and oppression in Punjab.
Asad Qaiser declared that while oppressive regimes may come and go, they cannot sustain themselves through tyranny. He promised accountability if any harm came to Choudhry Imtiaz and called for the Chief Justice to take suo motu action to address the issue, accusing the government of betrayal and public humiliation.
The PTI leaders’ remarks reflect growing tensions between the opposition party and the government, highlighting ongoing controversies and disputes regarding political conduct and legal integrity in Pakistan.
