PTI Considers Using GT Road to Reach Islamabad Amid Motorway Blockage

Peshawar: The leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has made a firm decision to reach Islamabad at all costs tomorrow. A meeting was held at the Chief Minister’s House in Peshawar, chaired by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar, with key party figures including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, former President Arif Alvi, Senator Shibli Faraz, Secretary Information Sheikh Waqas Akram, and other senior leaders in attendance.
The meeting reviewed arrangements for tomorrow’s protest and finalized plans for the Islamabad march. Given the ongoing blockage of the motorway, PTI leaders discussed sending convoys through the GT Road. Strategies to remove obstacles and reopen the motorway were also considered.
Various route options were discussed for convoys from Hazara and Malakand regions, with talks about deploying heavy machinery to clear roads up to Attock and Swabi.
On the other hand, the government has taken a strong stance against the protests. Federal Minister for Interior, Mohsin Naqvi, contacted Barrister Gohar to inform him that, in accordance with a ruling from the Islamabad High Court, the authorities could not permit any rallies or sit-ins in the capital.
Naqvi explained to Barrister Gohar that the government is bound by the High Court’s order and, as such, cannot allow any procession, sit-in, or rally in Islamabad at this time.
