PTI Chairman Gohar Ali Khan: We Are Open to Talks, But Government Must Announce Commission

Islamabad:PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has stated that the party is willing to reconsider negotiations, but only if the government announces the formation of a commission.
Speaking to the media upon arriving at Parliament House, Barrister Gohar explained that the founder of PTI had previously suspended talks, but the party was still open to negotiations. He emphasized that PTI’s demands were clear and limited, and that seven days were more than enough for the government to announce a commission, but no progress had been made on that front.
He said, “Seven days were more than enough for the announcement of the commission, and we are ready to reconsider, but the government must announce the commission first.”
Barrister Gohar also clarified that PTI would not support the government’s proposed legislation during today’s session. He pointed out that the government had included eight laws in the agenda, including one from 2021, five from 2023, and two from 2024. He stated that the law from 2021 could not be passed yet.
Earlier, during a conversation with the media outside Adiala Jail, PTI Chairman had announced that negotiations with the government were over, and that the fourth round of talks would not take place.
In response, Senator Irfan Siddiqui, a spokesperson for the government’s committee, expressed disappointment, stating, “It took PTI 42 days to present their demands, and now they are asking for a response within just seven days. The working days will be completed by Tuesday. It is unfortunate that PTI has decided to end the negotiation process.”
