Quetta:Balochistan PTI Provincial President Dawood Shah Kakar has strongly condemned the recent Bannu incident, urging the formation of a judicial commission for immediate investigations and to bring facts before the public. Kakar stated that firing upon unarmed civilians is unjust, emphasizing solidarity with the people of Bannu. He lamented that demanding peace in Pakistan has now become a crime, where anyone advocating for peace becomes a target for gunfire.
Addressing the media regarding the Bannu incident, Kakar asserted, “Once again, innocent and helpless people who were peacefully marching for peace in Bannu have been targeted with gunfire. The exact toll of casualties and losses has not yet been fully determined due to the suspension of internet services, but reports indicate numerous injuries and fatalities.”
“This sorrow and grief of the people of Bannu is a matter of great concern for the entire nation. Demanding peace in this country has now become a crime, where whether you desire peace or demand peace, you will be shot at,” he added.
Expressing solidarity with the people of Bannu, Kakar stressed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) stands with them. He called upon the government to conduct an inquiry through a judicial commission and bring the facts before the public. Kakar emphasized that in this hour of anguish and sorrow for the people of Bannu, both the people of Pakistan and PTI are standing with them.
He condemned the use of state power against citizens who exercise their right to peaceful protest, stating, “Using state force against citizens exercising their right to peaceful protest is a severe violation of constitution, law, and ethics. We stand in solidarity with the affected individuals. Such injustices cannot silence those who demand peace, rights, and justice.”
Kakar concluded by demanding that the government immediately conduct thorough investigations into the incident and ensure that those responsible face the full force of the law.
