Provincial Minister Emphasizes the Role of Education and CPEC in Balochistan’s Development

Quetta:Provincial Minister for PHE and WASA, Sardar Abdul Rahman Khetran, highlighted the transformative potential of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Balochistan’s development. He acknowledged that while the region is rich in natural resources, it has faced numerous challenges over the decades. According to Khetran, some banned organizations and their facilitators are attempting to sabotage CPEC-related projects by staging protests and spreading destabilizing narratives in the province.

Khetran specifically mentioned the negative influence of certain individuals and groups, particularly highlighting Mehrang Baloch as a prominent figure spreading destabilizing ideologies. He warned that such narratives, backed by foreign funding, aim to mislead Baloch youth and divert them from their educational and productive pursuits.

The provincial minister urged students to focus on their education, emphasizing that it is the key to development and progress in Balochistan. He also pointed out that the provincial government is committed to providing opportunities for the youth, citing initiatives like the Youth Skills Development Program and the newly approved Balochistan Youth Policy 2024, which aim to empower young people and help them contribute meaningfully to the economy and society.

Khetran encouraged the youth of Balochistan to resist the negative influence of disruptive ideologies and to work towards positive change through education and skill development. He emphasized that the future of Balochistan lies in the hands of its young people and their ability to lead the province toward a prosperous, united, and innovative future.
