Quetta:Today in Quetta, protesters attempting to enter the Red Zone were met with resistance from police forces. The Red Zone in Quetta houses key government institutions including the High Court, Supreme Court registry, Governor House, Chief Minister’s House, judges’ residences, and other high-ranking officials’ accommodations. Despite the imposition of Section 144 in the city, which prohibits gatherings, demonstrators persisted in trying to breach the Red Zone.
According to spokesperson Shahid Rind of the provincial government, police exercised extreme tolerance and restraint towards the protesters. The Red Zone, as per policy, strictly prohibits unauthorized access. Rind emphasized that peaceful protests are a democratic right but underlined that no individual or group will be allowed to disrupt operations within the Red Zone or state offices.
The situation remains tense as authorities continue to monitor developments closely.
