Panjgur:A protest rally was held by the families and relatives of two missing brothers, Abid Noor and Sabir Noor, who disappeared from Chitkan. The rally commenced from Javed Chowk and proceeded through Allah Akbar Chowk, culminating in a sit-in outside the Deputy Commissioner’s office. The demonstration saw significant participation from various political parties, including Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, BNP Awami, and the Haq Do Tehreek, as well as social organizations, with a considerable turnout of women and children.
Protesters carried photos of the missing individuals and held placards denouncing the situation in Panjgur, emphasizing issues related to law and order and the alleged ethnic cleansing of Baloch people. Speakers at the sit-in included prominent civil society members and political leaders, such as Haji Ikhtiar Baloch, Rahmdil Baloch, and Mullah Farhad Baloch. They condemned the enforced disappearances of innocent individuals, particularly students, and expressed concerns over the ongoing anguish faced by families.
They pointed out the contradiction of living in an Islamic democratic state, where constitutional rights seem to be disregarded, leading to unnecessary suffering among the populace. The speakers stressed that Abid Noor and Sabir Noor are upstanding citizens with no connections to any illegal activities, yet they have been missing for over a week with no trace.
The protestors called on local authorities, including the Panjgur administration and police, to take immediate action to recover the missing brothers and ensure justice for their families. It is noteworthy that for the past four days, family members, including women, children, and elderly, have been staging a sit-in on the CPEC road demanding the return of their loved ones. Ongoing negotiations for the recovery of the missing individuals are being held with the Commissioner Makran, DIG police, and Deputy Commissioner.
