Quetta:Under the auspices of the National Party, widespread protests erupted across Balochistan against K-Electric’s unjust treatment. A demonstration was held in front of the Quetta Press Club led by district president Quetta Hajji Atta Muhammad Bangulzai. Addressing the gathering, NP’s central secretary for information and publications Islam Baloch stated that K-Electric has turned people’s lives into a living hell, subjecting them to 21-hour load shedding in scorching temperatures of 52 degrees Celsius. He accused K-Electric and other authorities of undermining people’s dignity, cutting connections through fraudulent bills, and treating Balochistan with a colonial mindset, portraying its people as subservient. Baloch highlighted the movement of civil disobedience gaining momentum in Balochistan, targeting entities like K-Electric, Sui Southern Gas Company, and addressing unemployment and missing persons issues. He demanded an immediate end to load shedding, withdrawal of cases against political activists and public representatives by K-Electric, halting the unjust operations, and discontinuing irrational electricity billing. Demonstrations are planned in various districts including Dera Bugti, Mastung, Khuzdar, and Kech to intensify pressure against K-Electric.
