Progress in Mustafa Murder Case: Armaghan Involved in Hawala and Fraud

Karachi:In a significant development in the Mustafa murder case, the main suspect, Armaghan, has been found to be involved in hawala (illegal money transfer) and digital currency fraud. Following this revelation, a case has been registered against him under the Anti-Money Laundering Act on behalf of the government.

According to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Armaghan was involved in various illegal activities, including hawala, digital currency, and fraud schemes. The FIR (First Information Report) reveals that the accused was making between 3 to 4 lakh dollars each month through fraudulent activities. He then converted the money into digital currency, which was used to buy expensive vehicles.

The investigation also uncovered that Armaghan had opened bank accounts in the names of two of his employees, and his call center in Karachi was involved in making calls to U.S. citizens. These calls were used to extract vital information from U.S. citizens, who were later defrauded of money. The money gained from this fraud was subsequently transferred to Armaghan.

The FIR further detailed that Armaghan had established an illegal call center in 2018, where he ran a well-organized fraud network. Every employee at the center was tasked with defrauding at least five individuals daily.

Additionally, Armaghan owned three luxury cars worth millions of rupees and had sold five others. He, along with his father, even set up a company in the U.S. for hawala purposes.

It is worth noting that Mustafa Amir, a victim in the case, was abducted on January 6th. A month later, on February 8th, police raided a bungalow in Karachi’s Defense Khayaban-e-Momin area to rescue Mustafa. During the raid, the police came under fire, resulting in three officers, including a DSP, being injured. Armaghan was arrested during the operation, and during interrogation, he admitted to having killed Mustafa by placing him in the trunk of his own car and setting it on fire along with his accomplice, Shiraz.
