Prime Minister’s Ramadan Relief Package to Provide Cash Assistance to 3.9 Million Families

The government has announced its annual Ramadan Relief Package to support underprivileged families during the holy month. This time, instead of providing goods through subsidized Ramadan bazaars or utility stores, the Prime Minister’s Ramadan Relief Package will offer cash assistance.

Under this initiative, it is proposed that 3.9 million eligible families across the country receive a one-time cash payment of 5,000 rupees. The total budget for the relief package is estimated at 20.5 billion rupees.

Sources indicate that 10 billion rupees will be allocated from the Ministry of Industry and Production’s budget, 2 billion rupees from the Benazir Income Support Program’s budget, and 8.5 billion rupees from the Ministry of Finance’s budget.

The final approval for the package will be given by the Federal Cabinet.
