Prime Minister’s Political Affairs Adviser Rana Sanaullah Hussain Discusses Government’s Intentions Regarding Imposing Restrictions on PTI
Islamabad:Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah Hussain stated that the government has expressed its intention to impose restrictions on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and will act according to the Constitution in this regard.
Rana Tanveer Hussain mentioned that under Article 17, the government can issue a declaration for imposing restrictions on any party. Once approved by the cabinet, this declaration is submitted to the Supreme Court within 15 days. If the court agrees with the declaration, restrictions can be imposed on the party.
He emphasized that the government has now clearly expressed its intentions, and actions will be taken in accordance with the procedures outlined in the Constitution.
Regarding specific seats, Rana Tanveer Hussain stated that they will present their position in court. If specific seats can be secured, efforts will be made in accordance with constitutional processes.
He also highlighted that the provision of holding additional judges’ seats is mentioned in the Constitution. If this is not correct, why is it in the Constitution? Constitutional matters cannot be stopped based on likes or dislikes.
Rana Tanveer Hussain commented on the economic downturn since 2018, stating that Imran Khan was portrayed as the solution to the country’s problems, but instead, the country was pushed into a difficult situation.
