Islamabad:In a recent interview with a private TV channel, Rana Sanaullah, Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs, emphasized the need to avoid undue attention on social media. He stated that those who consider themselves vigilant in running campaigns through social media are succeeding. He further remarked that the current situation is precarious, with no one being safe, as anything said on social media can have severe implications. Addressing concerns about the situation, he suggested that while laws are being developed, courts are available to rectify matters. It is worth mentioning that the Full Bench of the Islamabad High Court has indefinitely postponed the further hearing of the case involving Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri against the anti-social media campaign until after the summer holidays. Additionally, Justice Babar Sattar of the High Court has initiated contempt of court proceedings against the social media campaign.
