Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif Encourages Shaheen Shah Afridi to Follow in Father-in-Law’s Footsteps

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has expressed high hopes for national cricketer Shaheen Shah Afridi, encouraging him to deliver performances similar to those of his father-in-law, Shahid Afridi.

While addressing the inauguration ceremony at Gaddafi Stadium, Prime Minister Sharif extended heartfelt congratulations to the Pakistan cricket team for their outstanding performance in recent months. He commended the players, acknowledging their hard work and dedication in elevating Pakistan’s cricket on the international stage.

Speaking directly to the players, the Prime Minister said, “The upcoming match with India will be in Dubai, so make sure you take me along. Azam, I have high expectations from you. Where is Rizwan? I expect great things from you too.”

To Shaheen Shah Afridi, the Prime Minister said, “Follow in your father-in-law’s footsteps and pile up the wickets. InshaAllah, the Champions Trophy will soon be in Pakistan’s hands.”

This motivational statement was a clear call for the team to continue their stellar performances and bring glory to Pakistan in future tournaments.
