Pressure on Faiz Hameed Case: PTI Calls for Civil Disobedience, Says Senator Faisal Vawda

Karachi: Senator Faisal Vawda stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called for civil disobedience to exert pressure on the proceedings of the Faiz Hameed case.
Speaking at the MQM headquarters in Bahadurabad, Karachi, where he met with MQM leaders, Vawda emphasized the need for a united national approach. He noted that while major political parties have failed to unite the country, he himself was working to bring various political forces together. During the meeting, MQM leader Mustafa Kamal praised Vawda’s efforts, calling him a “one-man army” and expressing full support for his political initiatives. Kamal added that Vawda was playing a key role in bridging gaps that the leadership of major political parties had been unable to address.
Vawda further commented that political cooperation is essential, and while he knows how to work both through persuasion and pressure, the country can no longer tolerate violence, strikes, and injustice. He stressed the importance of respecting PTI’s mandate and pointed out that the life of PTI’s founder, Imran Khan, is under threat. Vawda condemned the actions of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, referring to them as “thuggish behavior,” and emphasized that MQM’s leadership would seek a way forward through discussions with Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
On the issue of the Faiz Hameed case, Vawda revealed that PTI has set a deadline of the 14th for pressure on the proceedings, but he expects the process to begin before that. He also stated that the establishment was not involved in any backdoor deals, and criticized the government for running the country like a “family corporation.”
In his concluding remarks, Vawda acknowledged that PTI has many capable individuals within the party, but stressed that if the party corrected its course, it could make significant progress. He praised Imran Khan’s family, especially his sisters, for being the most dedicated and loyal supporters of the PTI founder during these challenging times.
