President Zardari and PM Shehbaz Return Electric Cars Gifted by Turkish President to Toshakhana
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have deposited the electric cars gifted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan into the Toshakhana. Erdoğan presented the vehicles to President Zardari and Prime Minister Sharif during his visit to Pakistan.
The Prime Minister confirmed that he had submitted his vehicle to Toshakhana just yesterday, a move later verified by the Cabinet Secretariat.
It is noteworthy that in mid-December 2024, Islamabad’s Accountability Court dismissed a plea to send a reference against former Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Yousaf Raza Gilani, and others over Toshakhana vehicles to the FIA. The court directed the case to be sent to the FIA’s Special Judge Central. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had requested that the case be transferred to the FIA court.
According to the NAB reference in the Accountability Court, former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani is accused of unlawfully allotting vehicles in the names of Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif.
