Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has directed that Pakistani athlete Arshad Nadeem be honored with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his record-breaking performance at the Olympics. According to official media reports, President Zardari will present the civilian award to Nadeem at a special ceremony in recognition of his exceptional contributions to the sports field.
Following the President’s directive, the President’s Secretariat has sent a letter to the Cabinet Division to formalize the award. The letter highlights that Arshad Nadeem has brought immense pride to the nation with his outstanding performance, elevating Pakistan’s standing on the global stage.
The award will be conferred under Article 259(2) of the Constitution, which grants the President the authority to bestow honors upon Pakistani citizens for distinguished services in various fields.
