Islamabad:Senior leader of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Sherry Rehman, has stated that they had no anticipation of any impending restrictions on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Speaking on Geo Pakistan program on Geo News, Sherry Rehman said, “We have seen in the budget that we could not do anything according to our opinion. We had told them not to do this as alliances don’t work that way.” She emphasized that they did not anticipate any imposition of restrictions on PTI, and whatever decision the party makes, they stand by it. She added, “I believe nothing will be gained from this. You cannot stop anything. There should be rule of law in the country, and the current situation is causing distress among the public.”
Sherry Rehman stressed the importance of benefiting from social wisdom and consulting people, urging every party to think about the issues and provide solutions to alleviate the country’s problems.
On the other hand, speaking in another program, Talal Chaudhry of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) stated, “We have not imposed any restrictions on politics or political parties but have sent a reference against an anti-state party to the Supreme Court. If justice is not found, what should such parties do?”
He further commented that the caretaker government also halted this option after the federal government. He added, “We know there will be criticism but fulfilling our duty was more important than criticism. In such an environment, the federal government has fulfilled its duty.”
Talal Chaudhry questioned, “Have we taken Pakistan and the state’s case to court? Was there any punishment on foreign funding incidents until today? Even today, the founder of PTI has not condemned the May 9 incidents.”
