PPP Leader Nasir Shah Refers to Members as “Form 47” in Speech, Clarified by Sharjeel Memon

The ongoing discussions surrounding Form 45 and Form 47 have become a hot topic in Pakistan’s general elections, with mentions in parliament and heated exchanges among political activists.

In a passionate speech, senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and Sindh Energy Minister, Syed Nasir Shah, made a slip of the tongue when he referred to his own party members as “Form 47.”

While addressing the gathering in Tando Jam, Nasir Shah said, “These days, there is a lot of talk about Form 45 and Form 47, but thank God, all the members of the PPP present here are Form 47.”

However, soon after, Provincial Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stepped in to clarify the mix-up, explaining that Nasir Shah had actually intended to say, “Our people are all Form 45.”

For context, Form 45 is provided to polling agents at each polling station, containing details of the votes cast, while Form 47 is a compilation of results from all polling stations, issued by the Election Commission.

Opposition parties have alleged that on election day, the Election Commission manipulated Form 47 to release desired results.
