Quetta:Residents of several villages in southern Ghotki, including Jacob Goth, Noor Khan Goth, Washu Goth, Adam Goth, Qadro Goth, and Wadera Rahim Khan Bazengo Goth, have been deprived of electricity for over one and a half years due to the theft of a lengthy transmission line valued at millions of rupees. The scandal, involving the fraudulent authorization of a non-governmental entity and the subsequent sale of the stolen electricity poles and transformers from the lengthy transmission line, has sparked outrage among affected communities.
Despite repeated complaints from local residents, the Ghotki police and the Kalikatric authorities have failed to take decisive action. In response, affected residents have called upon senior officials of Kalikatric and investigative agencies, including Commissioner Ghotki Division and Deputy Commissioner Hub, to investigate the matter thoroughly and bring those responsible for the theft and sale of government property to justice.
The incident, which occurred approximately one and a half years ago during a rainy season outage, involved the foundation of a fake letter from a non-related government office, which was used to justify supplying electricity from the stolen transmission line to the mentioned villages in Ghotki. However, despite investing millions of rupees in the supply of electricity, residents have received no benefits, leading to widespread disillusionment and frustration among the affected communities.
