Power Outage Hits Murree and Gwadar, Causing Widespread Disruption
Murree / Gwadar:A major power breakdown has caused widespread disruption in two key cities of Pakistan, as Murree and Gwadar faced sudden electricity outages on Friday.
In **Murree**, the power cut occurred after the main 132 kV line tripped, plunging the popular hill station into darkness. According to media reports, areas such as Mall Road, Jheekagali, Bhurban, and the Expressway, along with several other parts of the city, were left without power. The outage has caused significant inconvenience to both tourists and local residents, particularly during the peak tourist season.
WAPDA officials stated that the tripping of the 132 kV line had disrupted the power supply, and the field staff was working to restore electricity. However, they cautioned that it might take some time before power is fully restored across the affected areas.
Meanwhile, in **Gwadar**, a technical fault at the local grid station caused a widespread power failure in the city. The areas connected to the Gwadar grid, including Serbandan and Ngor, were also plunged into darkness.
**K-Electric** (KESCO) officials confirmed the fault and mentioned that technicians had been dispatched from Turbat to resolve the issue. The power failure has caused considerable hardship for Gwadar residents, with daily life and businesses severely affected.
Both cities’ residents are anxiously awaiting the restoration of electricity, as efforts to resolve the faults continue.
