Pasni:The ongoing power crisis in Makran, which has plagued the region for the past four months, continues to worsen despite the onset of cooler weather. Currently, residents are only receiving electricity for six hours a day out of a 24-hour period.
The local electricity distribution company, KESCO, blames the situation on an energy crisis in Iran, from where Makran receives its electricity. However, KESCO has yet to provide any official notification or clarification from Iranian authorities to reassure its consumers.
Although temperatures in Makran and other parts of Iran have decreased significantly from 50°C to 32°C in August, this change in weather has not alleviated the power crisis. The power shortage persists despite the reduced demand for cooling.
Local lawmakers, including eight Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) and two Members of the National Assembly (MNAs) from Makran, have faced criticism for their lack of action on this critical issue. Instead of advocating for their constituents and addressing the crisis, these representatives have remained silent, leaving the public feeling abandoned and frustrated.
The ongoing situation has raised concerns among the public, who are increasingly worried about the lack of effective response from both the authorities and their elected officials.
