Political Leaders Stress on Dialogue, Not Force, to Resolve Balochistan Issues

Chairman of Sunni Ittehad Council, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders have emphasized that the issues in Balochistan can only be solved through dialogue, not through the use of force.
During a press conference on Thursday with key figures such as Latif Khosa, former Senator Nawabzada Lashkari Raisani, Allama Raja Nasir, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal from Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, and others, Sahibzada Hamid Raza expressed concern over the approach taken in Balochistan, stating that the region’s issues have often been addressed through military operations, which are ineffective. He stressed that the only way forward is through negotiations and granting Balochistan its rightful share.
Regarding the boycott of the National Security Committee meeting, Raza clarified that the province’s representatives should have been invited to a meeting about the ongoing crisis, instead of calling Punjab members, leading to the decision to not attend the session.
Nawabzada Haji Lashkari Raisani criticized the approach of using force to come to power and urged the government to read the constitution. He highlighted that Balochistan now faces not only deprivation but also a sense of oppression. Raisani called for an end to forced disappearances and interference from agencies in the province. He further demanded the end of the “minus Balochistan” formula, urging that only those who genuinely represent the people’s mandate should be placed in leadership roles.
Lashkari Raisani also stated that the country’s politics cannot move forward with institutional interference and stressed that the real issues of Balochistan need to be addressed promptly.
PTI leader Latif Khosa echoed similar sentiments, asserting that Balochistan’s resources belong to its people, and the country is being exploited unfairly. He pointed out the injustice of the current political situation, where a leader with 180 seats is imprisoned while another with just 17 seats holds the office of Prime Minister.
Khosa also criticized the treatment of women, stating that while in the past, no woman’s honor was compromised, the current ruling party’s actions are unacceptable. He rejected the leaders who came to power under Form 47 and declared that they cannot support the destruction of Pakistan.
In their joint press conference, the leaders also demanded the immediate release of all political workers in Balochistan, including women, who are currently detained.
