Punjgur: A delegation comprising political parties, business community, and other stakeholders, under the umbrella of the All Parties City Action Committee, held a meeting with the Chairman of the All Parties City Action Committee, Advocate Alawuddin, Vice Chairman Agha Shah Hussain Baloch, and former Chairman Hafiz Muhammad Azam Baloch, along with Deputy Commissioner of Punjgur, Zakir Ali Baloch, and District Police Officer Syed Fazil Shah Bukhari at their office.
In attendance were National Party district president Haji Ayub Baloch, Muhammad Sadiq Baloch, central leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Haji Abdul Aziz Baloch, People’s Party district president Saeed Ahmed Baloch, Mir Kifayatullah Baloch, Hafiz Saifullah Baloch of Jamaat-e-Islami, Farhad Baloch of Haqooq-e-Tahaffuz Movement, President of Traders Association Fareed Baloch, Lal Dost Baloch, President of Pira Medical Javed Kakar Baloch, Zahoor Ahmed Baloch, and other leaders.
During the meeting, Advocate Alawuddin, Chairman of the All Parties City Action Committee, presented a memorandum outlining several issues in Punjgur. These included deteriorating law and order situation, incidents of murder and robbery, theft and dacoity becoming commonplace, private armed individuals extorting on CPEC roads, dire conditions of teaching hospitals with severe shortage of doctors and medications, rampant drug dens and drug trafficking in Punjgur, and neglect of the Price Control Committee’s responsibilities.
The All Parties City Action Committee demanded immediate and swift action from the Deputy Commissioner, urging him to address these pressing issues promptly. They emphasized that the security situation in Punjgur has reached alarming levels, with murders, robberies, and theft becoming frequent occurrences. The teaching hospital is in dire need of attention, as emergency services are compromised due to lack of responsible personnel. Additionally, the rampant drug trade and dens are openly operating, highlighting administrative weaknesses and negligence.
The committee expressed concerns over private armed groups on CPEC roads, exploiting travelers, and stressed the urgency of restoring law and order in the district. They called upon the administration to take proactive measures to ensure peace and security in Punjgur, warning that failure to act may lead to public protests. Deputy Commissioner Zakir Ali Baloch reassured the All Parties City Action Committee of the administration and police department’s commitment to addressing these issues effectively. He pledged to utilize all available resources to improve security and vowed to take swift action against criminals involved in drug trafficking. The Punjgur administration committed to taking action within the next two days and assured the community of presenting the best possible outcomes.
They affirmed that Punjgur’s progress and maintaining a peaceful environment are their top priorities, vowing not to allow anyone to defy the law. They emphasized that the law will be enforced under all circumstances, with no exceptions.
