Police Violence and Arrests at Peaceful Protest in Quetta Condemned by Hak Do Movement
Panjgur:The Hak Do Movement organized a peaceful rally in Quetta that was met with police violence and unwarranted arrests, particularly targeting women, sparking outrage among various political factions. Leaders from the Social Society and other political parties, including the All Parties City Action Committee, participated in the protest.
The demonstration commenced from Shaheed Javed Chowk and progressed through Main Road, culminating in a public gathering. Addressing the gathering, Mullah Farhad, Chairman of the Hak Do Movement, Vice Chairman Hafiz Saraj Ahmed Baloch, Advocate Alaud Din, Head of the All Parties City Action Committee, and other leaders condemned the Quetta police for their use of violence, firing, and shelling against peaceful women and children, likening it to acts reminiscent of tyranny.
They demanded immediate action against the police officers and officials responsible for the unjustified firing and violence inflicted upon innocent civilians. The leaders emphasized the need for accountability and justice to be served promptly to prevent such incidents in the future.
