Police Duty Affected Due to Jamaat-e-Islami Protest; Legal Proceedings Delayed
Rawalpindi: As a result of police being deployed for additional duty due to the Jamaat-e-Islami protest, legal proceedings have been adversely affected. Due to the assignment of police guards to handle the protest, accused individuals could not be presented in courts from Adiala Jail. Session courts have postponed hearings of cases due to the absence of the accused.
The report presented in court highlighted that due to police guards being assigned duty at the Jamaat-e-Islami protest, accused individuals could not be brought from jail to the courts, resulting in delays in legal proceedings.
