PM’s Political Advisor Rana Sanaullah Accuses Imran Khan of Undermining the State

Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has accused former Prime Minister Imran Khan of attempting to defeat the state, questioning whether attacking the country’s existence could be considered political struggle. Speaking in a private TV interview, Sanaullah claimed that Imran Khan’s objective was to create rifts between the military and the public, suggesting that his recent letters are intended to support terrorists.

Rana Sanaullah further stated that Imran Khan has been pursuing the same agenda for a long time, and it was unclear whether he was unaware of the consequences or intentionally creating division. He defended the transfer of judges, arguing that it was not an unconstitutional action, and even suggested that questions could be raised about judges writing letters if necessary.

The Advisor to the Prime Minister also pointed out that lobbying efforts were behind the letters written in Imran Khan’s name. This comes after Imran Khan, from jail, wrote a letter to the Chief of Army Staff, General Asim Munir, demanding changes in military policy. In his letter, Imran Khan stressed the importance of national unity and support for the military in the fight against terrorism, lamenting the growing divide between the military and the people due to the establishment’s policies. He emphasized that both the military and the country belong to him, noting the sacrifices made by soldiers for Pakistan’s defense.
