PM Shehbaz Sharif: Pakistan’s Defence is Impregnable, No One Can Eye the Nation with Malice under Army Chief’s Watch

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing the Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad, asserted that Pakistan’s defence is impregnable, especially under the leadership of Army Chief General Asim Munir, whom he hailed as a true patriot and a highly professional soldier. “No one can look at Pakistan with a malicious eye while he is in command,” the premier stated.
Speaking to overseas Pakistanis from around the world, Shehbaz Sharif emphasized their immense contribution to the country, calling them “the crown of our heads.” He acknowledged their relentless hard work abroad and noted that they remit billions of dollars to Pakistan annually. “Whatever we do to appreciate our overseas community is not enough,” he said.
During his address, a special documentary film was also presented, showcasing the sacrifices and achievements of overseas Pakistanis.
Referring to the menace of terrorism, the Prime Minister questioned the sources of terrorist funding and reiterated that everyone knows who supports and facilitates these elements. “We lost over 80,000 lives in the fight against terrorism. By 2018, terrorism had been eradicated, but it is resurfacing once again,” he warned.
PM Shehbaz also strongly condemned the propaganda against national martyrs, particularly in the UK. “Those who speak ill of our martyrs commit an unforgivable crime. Even the Holy Quran instructs us not to call martyrs dead,” he said.
He called upon overseas Pakistanis to confront those who malign Pakistani institutions, but urged them to respond with dignity and appropriate language. “Prove that you are proud Pakistanis,” he said.
Shehbaz Sharif further announced a series of initiatives to facilitate overseas Pakistanis:
Video link facilities to communicate directly with relevant ministers.
A 15% quota for overseas Pakistanis in federal and medical universities.
Instructions to NADRA and FBR to prioritize overseas Pakistani needs and treat them as active filers.
Feasibility study ordered for an international-level airport in Mirpur.
Annual civil awards for 15 distinguished overseas Pakistanis.
Revival and implementation of the “Green Channel” at airports to facilitate returning expatriates, within a few weeks.
