PM Shehbaz Sharif Labels Israel a Threat to Global Peace

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned Israel, calling it a threat to global peace during a federal cabinet meeting. He criticized Israel for its open aggression against Iran and highlighted the ongoing violence in Gaza.
“Israel’s actions against Iran represent open aggression,” said the Prime Minister. “The situation in both Iran and Gaza is deeply concerning. When will the global conscience awaken? Israel’s actions are dangerous for both global and regional peace.”
Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s condemnation of the Israeli attack on Iran and expressed solidarity with the Iranian people on behalf of the Pakistani nation. He urged the international community to act swiftly to enforce a ceasefire.
Speaking on domestic matters, the Prime Minister praised Pakistan’s armed forces, stating, “Allah granted us a great victory against India. Our fight against terrorism continues. We have increased the defense budget accordingly.”
He noted that the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) has been raised to PKR 1 trillion this year to support economic recovery, adding, “We have saved the country from default, unlike those who previously pushed it to the brink.”
Addressing the national budget, Sharif congratulated the finance minister and his team, reaffirming Pakistan’s stance to protect the agriculture sector from taxation. “We told the IMF that we will not impose taxes on agriculture and fertilizers. Salaries have been increased by 10%. A one percent tax will be levied on individuals earning between PKR 600,000 and PKR 1.2 million—reduced from last year’s 5%. I’m glad the IMF accepted this proposal,” he concluded.
